What is GPA, and is it important?

GPA means Grade Point Average; it’s a numerical value that shows the academic achievements of a student. GPA is calculated simply by converting Grades like A, B, C into points like 4.0, 3.0, then averaging them.

There are several benefits to a GPA, including demonstrating a student’s academic performance, which helps them secure merit-based scholarships and other opportunities.

Do you know how GPA is calculated at UF?

The formula used for GPA calculations at UF is:
GPA = (SUM OF ALL GRADE POINTS) / (SUM OF ALL CREDIT HOURS)
